Dave Lindsey’s Corporate Citizenship Portfolio
The Super Service Challenge was founded in 2011 to catalyze a national movement to transform business through service. Driven by the idea that a company grows stronger when employees join together to serve causes they care about, the Challenge promotes service in the workplace by encouraging companies to donate their time, share their stories of service, and win funding for nonprofits in their communities. The Challenge’s big vision is to turn businesses from a giving company to a company of givers.
The Super Service Challenge gained national attention at the 2012 Super Bowl played in DEFENDER’s headquarters city of Indianapolis. When New Orleans prepared to host the following year’s Super Bowl, Saints quarterback Drew Brees called on Dave Lindsey to continue the tradition of Super Bowl-oriented corporate service competitions.
Drew and his wife Brittany became official partners through their Brees Dream Foundation which was founded in 2003 to improve the quality of life of cancer patients. The Brees also provide care, education, and life opportunities for children and families in need. They were widely lauded for their role in helping New Orleans recover from Hurricane Katrina and have committed or contributed to more than $18 million in charitable causes worldwide.
Inspiring a greater purpose in the workplace beyond profits and paychecks
Companies With A Mission was founded to inspire a greater purpose in business that changes the way we view work and encourages a heart of service to the world around us. We want to inspire this movement by providing opportunities that add significance to the work we do each day.
trueU created a platform of learning and development opportunities based on three core pillars: investing in relationships, serving others, and growing leaders.
In other words, we help our members CONNECT, SERVE, and GROW by providing offerings in each of these categories. This combination of relationship-building, service and leadership development is what helps make our approach so different. And we have something for every member of your team, regardless of geography or place on the organizational chart. The opportunity is there for anyone who wants it.
Every part of what we offer is designed around our three pillars to support employees by growing them as leaders in life. Our programs are proven, and feature classroom and experiential learning, alongside an online learning portal branded to your company and powered by trueU. It’s truly an integrated approach.
Connections – companies participate in CEO roundtables and an annual convention
Service – companies assemble teams to compete in the Super Service Challenge or Homes of Hope builds
Grow – trueU offers a learning portal branded to individual companies offering employees a variety of life skills topics such as goal-setting, wellness, financial fitness, and healthy relationships. The program also offers leadership programs and instructor-led classes
trueU was created to support transformational growth of business, and was built on the vision of its first founding member, DEFENDER, a national home services company. Recognized by Training Inc. as #30 in the world for its development of people, DEFENDER’S values and methods are a strong foundation for trueU to build upon. As other members further contribute ideas and programs and share best practices, our offerings will continue to grow in breadth, depth, and value. Today, trueU is driven by a genuine desire to inspire a greater purpose in business, bringing together like-minded companies and leaders for peer-inspired growth and leadership development opportunities.
